Delivery Policy (as of May 2022)

The Finer Cookie ships from its kitchen facility in Montreal, Quebec Canada to anywhere within Canada and the United States (including Hawaii and Alaska). For other US territories, additional shipping charges will apply.

All our cookies are baked fresh to order. Your satisfaction is a priority. As soon as the cookies are out of the oven and sufficiently cool, they’re carefully packaged in clear, food safe bags. This non-permeable material keeps each cookie as fresh as possible during shipping. We apologize for the occasional broken cookie.

Gift Notes: Please specify a gift message on your order form and we’ll handwrite your note and include it in the box.

Temperature Sensitive Cookies: The Finer Cookie has a few temperature sensitive cookies on its menu. If a cookie is temperature sensitive, it is noted on the product page.

Our goal is that every box of cookies arrive in the same excellent condition that it left our shop We will ship temperature sensitive cookies to areas with weather conditions of 50ºF and below. For addresses with warmer temperatures (50ºF +), we require insulation packs to keep the cookies cool. If you choose a temperature sensitive cookie, we will likely contact you to either swap out your selection or suggest insulation.

Shipping Dates: To ensure freshness, we ship our products Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays for any order received before Wednesday 2pm (EST). Orders placed on holidays or outside these days and cut off times will be shipped the next available shipping date.

Shipments to the United States: Yes, we ship to the United States everyday without delivery delays. Typically, delivery is 1-3 days. The Finer Cookie is registered with the FDA in the United States. As part of this registration, we are obliged to submit FDA documentation with every shipment. The Agency pre-approves this paperwork prior to the package arriving at customs. This pre-approval facilitates smooth import into the USA and easy delivery to its final destination.

For international orders: It is sometimes possible to deliver to countries in Europe and the Caribbean – countries outside of North America. For those situations, please contact us toll-free 855-973-3060 for a special shipping quotation.

Local Deliveries: For most local deliveries within the greater Montreal region they’ll be shipped with Purolator for next day delivery, Monday – Friday. If your shipment requires hand delivery, we can do so for a $15 charge.

Carriers: We use FedEx, DHL, Purolator, Canada Post and the US Postal Service to carry your cookies directly to the recipient’s home or office. Most often, your cookies will be delivered in 1-3 days. Guaranteed overnight service is available upon request. Saturday delivery is sometimes available, unless during the holiday season. Tracking: We provide you a tracking number via e-mail on the day of shipment. With this, you can click through to check the status of your package. In addition, we check our shipping logs daily. If for some reason a box has stopped moving, we’ll contact the carrier directly. However, if you see anything that needs to be addressed, we’re happy to help. Deliveries with or without Signatures: Currently, all orders are shipped without signature required. A safe delivery is entirely up to the discretion of the carrier’s delivery person. There must be a dry and safe place to leave the package, otherwise the package will be returned to the depot.

Phone Numbers at checkout: We ask for a phone number at checkout as it is often needed for a successful delivery. The carriers will often text the number with delivery alerts and/or the drivers will sometimes use the number for delivery instructions.

When No-one is Home: In the event that no one is home, and there isn’t a safe and dry location to leave the package, the carrier should leave a ticket with the tracking number, depot location and hours, as well as contact information. We are not responsible for second attempt delivery charges that might apply. We will not guarantee or refund any packages that were damaged or delayed in delivery due to the recipient not being home, left with a third party, or because of other conditions beyond our control. These factors may include, but are not limited to, weather, traffic delays, mechanical error, strikes, or inaccurate shipping information.

Please check the accuracy of the delivery address before checkout. We cannot stress the importance of a complete and accurate delivery address.

Third Party Delivery: If the gift or package is left with a third party (neighbor, Doorman or Concierge), you accept all liability and risk for your order. These risks may include (but are not limited to) damage due to poor weather conditions, theft or consumption.

No refund or credit is available for such occurrences. If you live in a building with a Doorman or Concierge, and he/she/they refuses the package, redelivery charges might apply. We are not responsible for second delivery charges.

Delivery to a PO Box is not available with DHL, FedEx or Purolator. PO Box addresses are only possible with Canada Post or the US Postal Service.

Product Availability: On occasion, we may be out of inventory on your preferred box color. In a situation where this occurs, we will most often replace your choice with a white gift box.

Sometimes we might be out of inventory for the cookie you’ve ordered or it may be out of production or on hold due to an ingredient is on back order or other issues outside our control. If you order one of these cookies, we’ll notify you in advance of the ship date. At that time you will have the choice of canceling your order or choosing another gift item.

Cancellation or Changes: As long as we haven’t started production on your order, we will be very flexible. However, to avoid any confusion, we prefer having 24 hours advance notice.
