Henry Kessler of the York Cone Company minted Peppermint Patties in 1940. Throughout New England, you could buy his cream wafer, dipped in dark chocolate at your local candy shoppe for more than 30 years. Not until the Peter Paul Candy Company marketed them nationwide did this creamy candy make its fortune. Stamped, dipped and foil wrapped, they're remembered as a childhood candy.
Mint your own batch of gluten-free Peppermint Patties. Made with cream cheese and confectioners sugar, they hold firmly when dropped in liquid chocolate. The chocolate sets fast so you can snack on them right away. Fresh and clean tasting, Peppermint Patties melt only when you bite. Carry these handcrafted coin-sized candies in your bag. Tell me how you liked them in the comment section below.
